Our Story

Global Public Forum (GPF) aims to bring the activity of Public Forum Debate to schools in Beijing, China. Members of Horace Mann School's debate team host weekly online workshops and office hours with large groups of students in Beijing who are interested in PF debate, capping off each semester with intramural debate tournaments.

GPF was created with the goal of crossing oceans and spreading the technical and inspiring activity that we all love. More importantly, though, we seek to open minds to broader perspectives. At GPF,  we believe that the research that goes into each debate case is just as critical as the actual competition itself. In today's age where censorship is becoming an increasingly pressing issue, we hope that each student that is introduced to PF debate gains an understanding of the importance of recognizing global realities.

Currently, our United States team consists of 12 Horace Mann Debate Team members. In China, we have taught over 50 students across 4 different schools in the metropolitan Beijing area. We're always looking for more like-minded people, whether it be prospective students or U.S. debaters looking to join the team!
